Tune into this webinar for an introduction to the new features and functionality in the Acoustics Module with COMSOL Multiphysics® version 5.6.

With the latest release, users of the Acoustics Module will enjoy new functionality to model nonlinear acoustics, ports for elastic waveguide structures, electroacoustic lumped ports, and general performance improvements.

This webinar will present the new capabilities of the Acoustics Module, including:

  • Nonlinear pressure acoustics solved with the discontinuous Galerkin (dG) time-explicit method
  • Modeling of nonlinear effects in thermoviscous acoustics
  • Port conditions for elastic waves in solids
  • Lumped port conditions to model lumped electroacoustic systems
  • Improved performance with new solvers for large BEM and FEM models
  • Faster computation of impulse response in ray tracing
  • The new so-called Thermoviscous Boundary Layer Impedance boundary condition
