Modeling Optoelectronic Devices with COMSOL® in 18 Minutes - Archived
Tune into this webinar to get an 18-minute introduction to modeling photodiodes in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software.
In this webinar, we will demonstrate how to use the COMSOL® software to model a simple GaAs PIN diode structure. To accurately model the semiconductor components of an optoelectronic device, the simultaneous coupling between the underlying semiconductor and electromagnetic phenomena is required. In the multiphysics model, the corresponding adsorption of the light and the associated change in the complex refractive index will be included in a self-consistent manner. Both the stimulated and spontaneous emission in the semiconductor will be taken into account.
