Activation node with heat transfer

Dear all, I am trying to simulate the heat transfer to the environment from a filament durind deposition with the FDM technique. I made use of the Activation node from the structural mechanics physics to simulate the deposition process itself. Now, I have been trying to tell comsol that the newly activated elements are at the extrusion temperature via the initial values node of the heat trasnfer in liquids and solids physics. This seems the best way to do it but the temperature of the freshly deposited filament is way lower. Any suggestion? Thank you.
