Model flexibility of a cable

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hey all,

I am trying to model the flexibility of a power cable. For instance when once side of the cable is fixed to a plug in a socket and the other end of the cable is moved in different directions. Can somebody advise me which physics to use? I taught first of multibody dynamics, but there are not really joints in this assembly, so not sure if this is suitable then. I also taught of solid mechanics, but I think that is not satisfying since this is rather based on forces instead of motions.

Thank you for helping!

Greetings Lili
