critical advective velocities

Hi,

I'm actually working on a 2D coupled hydraulic - thermal simulation (horizontal plane) using the Earth Science Application Mode and have observed the following problem:

exceeding a critical advective velocity (approx. > 1E-5 m/s) of the porous aquifer the simulation produces unrealistically high aquifer temperatures (exceeding the expected temperature range by several powers); at velocities below this critical value, the calculated distribution of soil temperatures seems to be realistic.

Regards
Gregor
