COMSOL Server

The Power and Benefits of Simulation are Accessible to Everyone

With COMSOL Multiphysics® and COMSOL Server™, you can apply simulation to any project, process, or product within your organization. Verify and optimize your work in real time, without constraints, using multiphysics apps that have been created to match your needs exactly.

Easily develop apps based on powerful multiphysics simulations with the Application Builder, which is included in the Windows® version of COMSOL Multiphysics®. These apps can be created to incorporate any data, support the inputs required per your specification, and produce results in whichever format best fits your project. They can in turn be uploaded to COMSOL Server™ to further provide simulation accessibility that fits the unique requirements of your organization.

Multiphysics Simulation Is Now Possible on Any Device

COMSOL Server™ is the intuitive and flexible platform that allows access to and management of your simulation applications. It can be installed locally or on a central or cloud-based machine to support multi-user operation. Once installed, COMSOL Server™ can be accessed via any modern web browser, including those found on mobile devices. Alternatively, a thin client can be installed on Windows® systems, which will also allow you to access COMSOL Server™. When apps are deployed on COMSOL Server™, they can be accessed and run by engineers, lab technicians, operators, QA teams, professors, students, or faculty. The apps you upload to COMSOL Server™ can be as complex or streamlined as required by their intended user base.

Straightforward and Flexible Licensing

The straightforward COMSOL Server™ worldwide network license means your simulation only has the restrictions that you set. This includes allowing your colleagues or even your customers, clients, vendors, or partners outside your organization to run your applications. You may even host it on a Virtual Private Cloud and use this infrastructure to control access and monetize your apps and services. COMSOL Server™ supports customizable levels of security and transparency with administrative tools that allow you to create user accounts and user groups with specific roles and permissions.

Simulation that Conforms to Your Needs and Processes

Empower your organization and overcome the restrictions and limitations of traditional simulation software. By using COMSOL Multiphysics® and COMSOL Server™, you will apply simulation when and where you need it, in a way that is best for your organization.

Run COMSOL Server and Apps on Multiple Computers

COMSOL Server™ can now be set up to run apps on multiple computers to ease the computational load on the main server. Furthermore, applications can be saved directly on the server. This makes it possible to return to the application in the same state you left it in, without having to download it first. The Application Library view in COMSOL Server now supports three display options: Grid View, Detailed View, and List View.

The Grid View in the Application Library page of COMSOL Server. The Grid View in the Application Library page of COMSOL Server.

LiveLink™ for Excel® in Applications

With LiveLink™ for Excel® you can now read and write Excel® files in applications. This does not require to be installed on the computer running COMSOL Server™.

Send E-Mail from Applications

A number of methods allow an application to send emails with attachments, such as when the computation is finished, for example. You specify the email sever settings in the Preferences of COMSOL Multiphysics or COMSOL Server.

Detailed Progress Information

You can now customize progress information and get more control over progress detail including up to two levels of progress bars. Choose whether or not to include model progress information and display message log information in progress dialog boxes or form objects.
