Invisible Connections Will Unveil our 5G Future

Eric Gebhard, Bill Rosas, Signal Microwave, USA

The impending evolution of ultrafast 5G networks from concept to reality will entail significant effort into the complex maintenance of impedance and the precision of individual components at high data transfer rates. Connectors, parts that join electrical transmission lines and transfer electromagnetic energy, must remain electrically neutral and have their impedance matched to the transmission lines. Signal Microwave, a producer of custom connectors, individually designs each connector to meet a customer’s specifications. They use numerical simulation, enabling the rapid development of connectors with optimized dielectrics for impedance matching and minimized reflection loss.
