Hi, I have modelled rail as beam and sleepers as 3D solid and I need to connect rail to sleepers. there is no option available in comsol to connect beam with 3D solid. I need any other alternative.

Hi Varsha,

If you are running the latest version (5.3a) you can use the Solid-Beam Connection multiphysics coupling.

If not, you probably need to use an extrusion coupling operator, and then a Prescribed Displacement node in the Solid Mechanics interface in which the displacements are set to match those in the beam.

Regards,

Henrik
