Corrosion in GlassFRP bar (non-metallic)

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I am relatively new to COMSOL and want to model corrosion in Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer bar that is kept in a still alkaline solution for certain time. With passing time, gel is formed inside the GFRP bar due to attack of OH ions present in alkali solution. I know that I need to use the chemical reaction module. But the reaction takes place within the solid itself. How do I model this type of problem in COMSOL. It is time and temperature dependent.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Suraksha
