Tune into this 18-minute webinar for an introduction to modeling acoustics using the COMSOL Multiphysics® software.

In a live demonstration, we will show how to model a loudspeaker driver. We will discuss setting up boundary conditions, calculating the near field and far field, and postprocessing the results with dedicated tools. We will also go over how to extend the approach to more advanced devices and include behaviors that might affect a design, like structural vibrations and electromagnetic effects.

Applications Engineer

James Gaffney works at COMSOL as an applications engineer for acoustics. He studied acoustical engineering at the University of Southampton, where he also earned his doctorate degree. His research involved predicting the fuselage installation effects from engine fan tones with analytical methods.
